Already collected £468,000 for Cancer Research UK
We were founded in 2010 by Bernard Dolan & John Fogel, and made our first appearance at the Stamford Quarter in Altrincham. Since then we have not looked back, busking every weekend in town centres, supermarkets, local markets and any other gigs we can attend across Greater Manchester, raising on average £1,000 a weekend! Click here to see where we are playing next. Loose Change Buskers not only raise vital funds for Cancer Research UK each weekend, we also help to raise cancer awareness in Greater Manchester.
Our commitment to Cancer Research UK has won us numerous local and national accolades. In 2015 we won a Cancer Research UK Flame of Hope award for Fundraising in the Community and in 2016 we received the prestigious Queen's Award for Voluntary Service, the MBE for volunteer groups. Then in December 2016 we appeared on BBC North West after being awarded a coveted special Christmas Star Award.
Cancer touches many people, including Loose Change Buskers ourselves. We have sadly lost three of their members, Dave Shannon, Mike Moratos and Tommy Stott to the disease. These men were an inspiration to us and they will continue in our memory, rain or shine.
If you want to know why we do it and feel that you might enjoy joining our dedicated group of people by playing an instrument, singing or shaking a bucket; or want to hire our band for your event please contact us here.
